Six Months in Provence

Where?

Manosque, a small town just north of Aix en Provence. Manosque is a walled town of 20,000 people. Outside the walls it isn’t the most picturesque of French towns, but the house we’re renting is within – and reportedly is moments from a regular market. The region is famous for its olives, and the local wines are rosé and white. The Mediterranean is an hour one way, the Alps are an hour the other way.

Are you going to give us your contact details? I’m packing my bags for a long weekend and want to know how to find you – probably in early December. Hope the sun will still be shining…

We hope to set up a free jajah account which will give us free phonecalls to anyone in the UK with a jajah account. We don’t know if we can do it yet, because from this end it only lets us register +44 numbers (i.e. UK). It uses VOIP so the quality might be a bit iffy, but reports from family members who use it are favourable, and it uses your normal landline phone so it’s got to be worth trying.

I gather that there was no problem setting up JAJAH once you were in France, so we can all chat to you for so long that you will never get that book written!
